Children’s Outpatient Departments

About us

Each area has a dedicated reception and waiting areas for children of all ages and their parents. There are separate consulting rooms as well as areas for blood testing and minor procedures.

We offer various services across all of our hospital sites which include:

Asthma service
Cardiology clinics and investigations
Diabetes service
Endocrine clinics
Epilepsy service
Paediatric medicine clinics
Gastroenterology including coeliac disease clinics
Neonatal follow-up clinics
Renal clinics
Rheumatology clinics

Other specialist services are provided by Leeds Children’s Hospital or Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

Blood tests

Blood tests for children younger than 8 years old can be arranged by ringing Children’s Outpatients at Pinderfields or Dewsbury to book into paediatric blood clinic.

Older children can have blood tests done by Phlebotomy department at any hospital site.

Day case endocrine blood tests are done in the Children’s Outpatient clinic at Dewsbury and District Hospital.
