The Rosewood Centre is a multi-disciplinary service to support the health and wellbeing of patients with oncology, palliative and non-cancer life limiting conditions.

About the service

The newly refurbished Rosewood Centre is a satellite building based within its own relaxing garden areas in the grounds of Dewsbury and District Hospital.

The Rosewood Centre currently has Oncology outpatient clinics; the centre also has a Macmillan Information and Support Hub which has appointment and drop in availability.

Specialist Palliative Care Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Service are based at the centre as are the Specialist Palliative Care Team and The Kirkwood Community Palliative Care Team.

The Kirkwood Counselling Team are also based at the centre as well as The Prince Of Wales Hospice and Pontefract Lymphoedema clinic.

The centre is also used for cardiac rehabilitation services, one to one clinics and group therapy.

Future holistic support services will be at the centre in the near future as we develop our partnerships with The Kirkwood, Prince of Wales and Wakefield Hospices.

The Rosewood Centre is a multidisciplinary service to support the health and wellbeing of patients living with cancer or a palliative diagnosis. Please note that all Wellbeing services listed below are based at The Rosewood Centre, Dewsbury and District Hospital.

Tai Chi: last Thursday of every month from 10am to 11am
A gentle exercise session to promote wellbeing, relaxation, balance and flexibility that is suitable for all. For more information please call 01924 512038.

Macmillan Women’s Cancer Support Group: alternate Thursdays
Taking place from 9.30am to 11.30am - this is a peer support group with occasional guest speakers. For more information please call 01924 512204.

SingSpiration: every Friday from 1pm - 2pm
A singing group for all abilities, celebrating it's 10 anniversary! For more information please call Ann on 07859 175411.

Cancer Care Dietician Drop In Sessions: Thursdays from 1.30pm to 5pm
For patients with an upper GI cancer diagnosis under the care of a Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Hospital’s oncologist. For more information please call 01924 543580.

The Mid Yorks Macmillan Non-Clinical Service work from the centre
To support with wellbeing, benefit advice and support with filling in applications, including Blue Badge applications and much more. For more information please contact 01924 512204.

Dewsbury Ambulance Charities chalet at Bridlington
For a small donation we can arrange a short break away for our patients in this chalet which is set in a peaceful setting on the North Bay,with facilities on site.
