Information about the Trust transport service

From 1 April 2025, we are pleased to announce significant improvements to the free 113 bus service, following a comprehensive review of the Trust’s bus services. We carried out the review because we wanted to make sure that our staff and patients have access to efficient and effective transport options that suit their needs, whilst also considering the rising costs of running these services.

The key changes and benefits of the new 113 service are:

  • New service provider: Local company TJ Travel has been awarded the contract for the 113 service, starting from 1 April 2025.
  • Increased capacity: The new 113 service will allow more passengers to travel comfortably. The timetable will also increase at peak times to allow staff, patients and visitors to travel from 6am until 8.15pm
  • Updated off-peak service: An updated hourly off-peak service will be introduced, reflecting the actual usage patterns and ensuring efficient operation.
  • Inclusive and accessible buses: New Euro 6 buses feature disabled access, making our services more inclusive and accessible to all.
  • Environmental benefits: Euro 6 buses produce lower emissions, helping to reduce our carbon footprint and support our green ambitions.
  • Enhanced travel experience: The larger, more comfortable buses have a strong reliability record, which will help minimise delays and enhance the overall travel experience for both staff and patients.
