The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust runs a network of hospital services across three sites at Pinderfields, Dewsbury and Pontefract.
2011 saw us complete a major hospital development programme, which involved opening new, state-of-the-art hospitals in Wakefield (Pinderfields) and Pontefract, which include brightly lit atriums, spacious waiting areas and treatment rooms, landscaped spaces and new technology to help speed up care.
Find out more about the services offered at each site by clicking on the hospital name on the menu on the left.

Our journey to becoming a smokefree Trust.
As a Trust, we are committed to our staff and to our patients and service users.
We want the best possible health outcomes for everyone involved in our services. Quitting smoking is the single most intervention to increase the physical and mental quality of life.
As of Wednesday 14 March 2018, we are implementing the recommendations of NICE Guidance PH48 which calls for support of smoking cessation or abstinence in all secondary care settings for patients, staff, carers and visitors.
This means that all staff, patients and visitors are not allowed to smoke tobacco anywhere on our sites - including buildings, entrances, exits, grounds and car parks as of Wednesday 14 March 2018.
We understand that becoming a smoke-free Trust will have an impact on some of the people who use our service, however, there is lots of support available to patients who smoke to help them through the change – whether they wish to stop smoking permanently or for the duration of their appointment or stay with us.
If you are a patient or carer please speak to any clinical staff member for support or contact Yorkshire Smokefree (YSF) team on 01924 541286 or by email email@example.com.
The Yorkshire Smoke Free team are located in the atrium next to the canteen at Pinderfields Hospital. In their new central location they have a consultation room and advisors on hand to give advice and help to quit smoking.

E-cigarette use has been associated with improved quit success rates over the last year and an accelerated drop in smoking rates across the country (Public Health England, 2018).
Patients and visitors are permitted to use e-cigarettes outside in our hospital grounds away from the main entrances , which must be kept clear for the benefit of all patients and visitors. The impact of e-cigarette use in the grounds will be kept under review
