We’re a Menopause Friendly Employer
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded the Menopause Friendly Workplace Accreditation.
Our Occupational Health and Wellbeing Services team worked with other organisations across the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership to support our workforce, raise awareness around menopause and to stamp out the taboo and stigma that exists.
The accreditation process looked at the way the organisation supports employees who are experiencing menopause, through policies, training, facilities, engagement and culture.
Tracy Scott, Associate Director for Occupational Health & Workforce Wellbeing said:
We are so incredibly proud to have achieved this accreditation on behalf of the organisation. The team has worked extremely hard to ensure we have the necessary support for our employees. We have a robust Menopause Policy, a Menopause Toolkit for managers, a thriving Menopause Champions Network, and access to Menopause Cafes, which are all excellent initiatives that help create a supportive and inclusive work environment.
West Yorkshire Integrated Care System (ICS) supported 14 organisations, including Mid Yorks with the accreditation, these included:
Airedale NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Council, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, Locala, Martin House Hospice, Nova, Prince of Wales Hospice, Wakefield Council, Wakefield Hospice, West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and Wharfedale, Airedale and Craven Alliance.
What is the Menopause Friendly Accreditation?
The Menopause Friendly Accreditation, established by Henpicked: Menopause In The Workplace, recognises high standards and proven practices that embrace menopause in the workplace.
The Menopause Friendly Accreditation is industry-recognised and the only accreditation that sets clear standards which must be met. As such, it is truly meaningful and considered by many as a mark of excellence for menopause in the workplace.
In order to achieve The Menopause Friendly Accreditation, employers are assessed by an Independent Panel and must demonstrate evidence of their effectiveness in six key areas, namely: culture, policies and practices, training, engagement, facilities and evaluation.
