Wakefield System Workforce Team Highly Commended in prestigious Healthcare People Management Association Awards
The Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership (WDHCP) Wakefield System Workforce Team has been highly commended for developing an innovative approach to system workforce planning in the Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) Awards.
The HSJ Jobs award for systems workforce planning and development category looks to identify projects and teams that are leading innovative approaches to system workforce planning, developing workforce plans based on service planning to meet population health needs and developing a workforce that can provide health and care on a whole system basis.
Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership has developed a new approach to system workforce planning, incorporating three key delivery elements:
- A People Alliance that has delegated responsibility for workforce planning
- A Pillar Leadership structure that brings system leaders together to identify priorities
- A dedicated project management office to support pillar leads on delivery.
Dr Linda Harris, Chief Executive at Spectrum Community Health CIC and Joint Workforce Senior Responsible Officer, said: “Spectrum are privileged to be part of the Wakefield District Health and Care Partnership (WDHCP) Wakefield System Workforce Team and we’re extremely proud of this accomplishment.
“This award showcased the team’s passion for our People Plan and approach and being highly commended is a fantastic achievement. Well done to the whole team and a huge congratulations!”
Phillip Marshall, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said: “We are incredibly proud of the Wakefield System Workforce Team for receiving this recognition at the HPMA Awards and we would like to thank all our partners on the Wakefield People Alliance for their support.
