Upgrade work to exterior of Pinderfields Hospital

As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain and improve buildings at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, we will be replacing the exterior panelling (also known as cladding) at Pinderfields Hospital over the coming months.
The work will primarily focus on the building facades in the courtyard areas. To facilitate this, scaffolding will be erected at various locations across the site (shown on the map image below) starting in early March. The specific locations and dates are:
- Courtyard 3: Scaffolding assembled from 4 March, works completed by 12 May.
- Courtyard 2a and 2b: Scaffolding assembled from 4 March, works completed by 30 June.
- Courtyard 1: Scaffolding assembled from 9 July, works completed by 19 August.
We understand that the term ‘cladding’ may raise concerns, especially given past incidents. However, we want to assure our staff and patients that the current cladding is safe. This replacement is part of our routine maintenance and upgrade work to ensure our buildings continue to meet the highest fire safety standards.
