Temporary relocation of Intensive Care Unit

Decant ward

Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Pinderfields Hospital has now temporarily relocated from Gate 30 to Gate 38A on floor D.

Gate 38A is a temporary building that has been constructed next to our Emergency Department. This is to accommodate our patients whilst upgrade and maintenance works take place within the hospital.

If you are planning to visit ICU, wayfinding signage is in place to direct you to Gate 38A. ICU will be located on Gate 38A for approximately three months.

Initially, Gate 38A has been configured as a 16-bed facility to allow ventilation, maintenance and other upgrade works to be undertaken in ICU and Haematology (Gate 21).

Once these works are complete, the ward will be reconfigured into a 40-bed ward allowing further works to proceed in the remaining Gates, continuing over the next few years until early 2027.
