Success in the Heart of Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards
Last week, the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group held their Annual Apprenticeship Awards. The ceremony, which took place at Pontefract Town Hall, celebrated the exceptional achievements of the Group’s apprentices and the contributions of its employer partners.
This year, Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust had three apprentices shortlisted for the Health and Education Apprentice of the Year award: Izabela Latos, Tessa Hampshire, and Amy Powell, which is a fantastic achievement.
The award was given to Izabela Latos, who currently works on gate 44, a general medical ward as an Apprentice Healthcare Assistant. Sarah Gray, Ward Manager, said: “I have been Izabela’s manager since she commenced her employment with the Trust back in September 2022. She is a very caring and compassionate individual who was clearly destined to work in the care industry.
“Izabela always arrives promptly, bright, and bubbly ready for her shift. She has a calm and friendly tone when she introduces herself to patients and treats them all as individuals. Izabela was a reluctant winner as she personally does not feel like she goes above and beyond in her role, however, this is clearly demonstrated in how she supports her colleagues in addition to escalating concerns outside the remit of her role and knowledge. She has a great future ahead in the care industry.”
The apprenticeships we offer at the Trust are open to people of all ages, running from school entry level to master’s degree and they provide the ideal opportunity to recruit new staff alongside upskilling and developing our existing staff.
