National shortlist success for Mid Yorkshire Hospitals
The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is delighted to be shortlisted as a finalist for the third year running for the Student Nursing Times Placement of the year: Hospital award.
The placement experience at the Trust has high aspirations; aiming to go above and beyond to support all students coming through the Trust’s doors and maintaining their School of Nursing collaboration with the University of Bradford 100% course satisfaction, as reported in the National Student Survey 2021.
Andrew Fielden, Student Nurse at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “I am a third year nursing student currently on my final placement at the Surgical Assessment Unit at Pinderfields Hospital.
“The support network is great, I have received so much support and assurance from the staff during my final placement, in particular my supervisors and assessors, which has developed me as nurse.”
Len Richards, Chief Executive at the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be once again shortlisted for the Student Nursing Times Awards.
“This is a fantastic achievement that clearly reflects all the hard work and determination our teams have put in to ensuring our students thrive in a compassionate and supportive environment, making their experience with us the best that it can be.”
The Student Nursing Times Awards aim to provide recognition for the exceptional talent in all specialities of student nursing, alongside congratulating lecturers, universities, NHS Trusts and private organisations providing outstanding support for students during their journey into nursing.
The winners will be announced on 28 April in a glittering awards ceremony at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
