Hospital Trust appoints new Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive
The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer who will also take up the role of Deputy Chief Executive.
Chris Evans is to join the Trust from Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust where he has served as the Chief Operating Officer since 2020.
Chris comes to us with a wealth of experience gained over the past 21 years in a variety of healthcare settings. His career started at what was Salford Primary Care Trust where he undertook several roles. As he progressed, he moved into management positions which led to him to becoming Managing Director for Salford Health and Social Care, which was an integrated care organisation.
Throughout his career, Chris has been driven by making a difference in his local area and beyond, working at both Central Manchester University Hospitals and The Christie, before taking his first position as a Chief Operating Officer at the Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Chris, will be responsible for providing strategic direction to ensure the continued delivery of high quality, patient-centred care, he said: “I am looking forward to being part of Mid Yorkshire Hospitals and its future, supporting system and partnership working. I am confident I can continue to deliver great outcomes for patients and families in the Wakefield and Kirklees districts, supporting everyone to provide compassionate and respectful care.”
