Healthcare professionals celebrate triple win in national awards

It was an evening of success for colleagues at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, who were recognised for their outstanding contributions at two national events and bringing home three prestigious awards.

At the Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) Awards, the Wakefield System Workforce Team, hosted by Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, won the award for Systems Workforce Planning and Development. At the same event, Chris Mannion, Deputy Director for Workforce and Organisational Development, was awarded with the Deputy People Leader of the Year award for his leadership and dedication.

At the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Awards, Alex Crossley, Assistant Finance Manager, received the Yorkshire & Humber HFMA Finance Student of the Year award, highlighting Alex’s significant contribution towards the wider NHS Finance team, as well as his dedication to his studies.

The Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) Awards aims to recognise and reward outstanding work in the healthcare people profession, while the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Awards, celebrates the work of finance teams and individuals working in healthcare from across the UK.

Phillip Marshall, Director of Workforce and Organisational Development at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said: “I’m really proud of my colleagues for their exceptional successes at last night’s awards.

“These awards are a testament to the hard work, innovation, leadership and partnership working of both Chris and the Wakefield System Workforce Team. I’d like to congratulate them for their fantastic achievements.”

Amy Whitaker, Chief Finance Officer at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said: “Alex Crossley’s achievement in winning the HFMA Finance Student of the Year award reflects his commitment to not only his own studies and professional development, but that of the wider Finance team.

“Alex is an asset to the team and we’re all exceptionally proud of his success.”
