Donation for Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust in celebration of Sovereign Health Care’s 150th anniversary
Sovereign Health Care has made a significant contribution to the MY Hospitals Charity, the charity that supports the main hospitals in Wakefield (Pinderfields Hospital), Dewsbury and Pontefract, as well as vital community services in the Wakefield area.
Sovereign Health Care’s previous annual donation of £8,000 has increased this year to £15,000, in celebration of its 150th anniversary. The donation will be used to support hard-working NHS staff in the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, through training and staff benefit initiatives, and supporting enhancements to the patient experience.
Sovereign Health Care’s ongoing commitment to supporting local health care initiatives, is an important part of its mission to contribute to the well-being of the communities it serves.
As well as the donation, Sovereign has also provided over £700 worth of gifts to the children’s wards as part of the MY Hospitals Charity wish list initiative.
Neil McCallum, Sovereign’s Chief Executive said;
“Sovereign takes great pride in our culture and ethos of supporting local health initiatives. As part of our 150th anniversary year celebrations, we were very happy to be able to give this gift to MY Hospitals Charity.
“We have supported the Mid Yorkshire nurse education initiatives for several years and know how valued this is. We were very happy to hear that some of this year’s funding would also go to benefit staff and patients more generally across the Mid Yorkshire Trust sites. The hard-working staff really are the backbone of NHS hospital and community services, and vital to keeping our communities well.”
Talib Yaseen, Chief Nurse at MYTT said;
“I would like to express my gratitude for this donation from Sovereign. Their generous support for Mid Yorkshire Teaching Trust and our staff highlights our shared ambition of ensuring people in our communities have access to the best healthcare, facilities and services, and that we have the best supported staff.
“Through MY Hospitals Charity we rely on the support of our local community and businesses to ensure we can provide the best possible healthcare and support to communities.”
