Blogmas: Interventional Radiology and Cardiology Team

Interventional Radiology and Cardiology Team

We’re focusing on our Interventional Radiology and Cardiology Team who were winners in our Celebrating Excellence Awards in the Excellence in Clinical Service – Team Award category. The team perform more than 7,000 elective, complex and acute procedures a year. Nurses, radiographers, radiologists, cardiologists and health care assistants all work together to deliver a first-class service for patients who are acutely ill, vulnerable, have cancer, cardiac disease, urology issues, vascular disease, etc. The team work seamlessly between the specialities to improve outcomes for all their patients.

There’s lots of exciting things happening at Mid Yorks, what are your plans for the coming year?

For the IR and Cardiology team we have a very busy year to look forward too. There will be an extensive equipment replacement programme going ahead with installation of a new state of the art cardiac catheter lab and a fluoroscopy room. We will be introducing some new services to improve the patient experience and develop our staff.

We want to keep developing the team so that we can build on our achievements and maintain the amazing team spirit we currently have and show the rest of the Trust that Gate 17 Interventional Radiology and Cardiology is a great place to work.
