Jaza Joy Mercadal, Registered Nurse

Jaza Joy Mercadal, Registered Nurse, was a worthy winner in the MY Unsung Hero category in our Celebrating Excellence Awards. Jaza is an inspiration to all international nurses in the Trust. In 2019, unrelated to her job role, Jaza helped a new cohort of Filipino nurses prepare for their OSCE exams. When the OSCE programme went virtual during the pandemic, Jaza held sessions to help them pass their exams. She also introduced the nurses to the Wakefield Filipino community and organised social gatherings to help them integrate.
