Palliative care

Palliative care

All patients with a life-threatening condition require good quality palliative care during their illness. Much of this care will be provided by patients' usual medical and nursing teams in hospital, nursing homes or in community. Some patients will develop complicated symptoms and need access to specialist palliative care services.

The Mid Yorkshire Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Team works to provide an integrated service for patients and their families who require specialist palliative care in all hospital sites of the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and in the community of Wakefield.
